F8-16M is an 8mm thrust bearing with grooved raceway. It is single direction thrust ball bearing which can handle axial loads only in one direction. It has 3 separable parts, they are a housing and shaft washer with a raceway, and a cage with steel balls assembly. The washers are made of 52100 chrome steel (Gcr15), and the cage is made of brass or stainless steel. There are 9 pieces of steel balls in the cage, and the ball size is 3 mm. The inner bore diameter of this bearing is 8 mm, and the (housing washer) outer diameter is 16 mm, the height is 5 mm. The outer diameter of shaft washer is a little smaller than that of the housing washer, which is 15.8 mm.
Thrust ball bearing is designed to handle higher rotational speeds, but they cannot handle high axial loads. F8-16M thrust bearing can handle a max dynamic thrust load of 2500 N, and a max static thrust load of 3,000 N. With light oil lubricating, the max rotating speed can reach up to 4,000 rpm.
